We are seeking a motivated individual to be a part of our Crisis Services Team in the FULL-TIME (Tue-Sat or Sun-Thur 11 PM - 7:30 AM) position of Registered Nurse - to support adults in our inpatient facility.

Your Role:

This position is responsible for the provision of direct services to seriously and persistently mentally-ill adults in an outpatient setting and will participate as a skilled member of the Medication Services Team providing psychiatric services including, but not limited to, mental status examination, disposition, medication administering and monitoring, health screening and education, and coordination of medication services to clients in various settings.


What you'll need:


  1. RN Licensed by the Colorado State Board of Nursing.
  2. Requires a minimum of two years of experience in a mental health setting with seriously and persistently mentally ill individuals.
  3. Requires knowledge of managed care issues; mental illness symptoms, treatment, and functional implications; standard therapeutic practices; and psychotropic medications and their administration under the direction of a physician.


Your Opportunity:


  1. Work positively and cohesively as a member of the Medication Services team to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of our clients. May be required to act as a liaison to other teams and/or serve on Center wide committees.
  2. Screen clients for health issues related to the use of psychotropic medications, provide teaching related to managing chronic illnesses, and make referrals to ongoing care.
  3. Skillfully observe, assess, and accurately document client's mental status and progress and provide appropriate interventions.
  4. Track, order and pack all medications. Give injections as ordered by physicians.
  5. Monitor, with psychiatrists, all lab work. Document lab results and consult with physician regarding any changes or concerns.
  6. Respond to pharmacy requests for medication refills and consult with other staff members whose clients request refills without a written prescription or if staff have questions regarding side-effects, etc.
  7. Provide case management consultation to ensure appropriate continuation of treatment to include, but not limited to, linkage, monitoring, and service planning. Request the assistance of an RN or Emergency Services when dealing with clients in crisis.
  8. Assess any medical problems and make appropriate referrals to medical physicians, dentists, or clinics as indicated.
  9. Facilitate and/or co-facilitate wellness group for clients as needed.
  10. Attend staff meetings and participate as an active member of the Medication Services Team.
  11. Participate in relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences on an on-going basis.
  12. Assist as needed in providing client's linkage to Patient Assistance Programs which are set up by pharmaceutical companies to provide medication to indigent clients. This includes doing appropriate paperwork and providing consultation and information to staff and clients about these programs.
  13. Must complete all required paperwork accurately, legibly, and by established timelines.
  14. Perform other duties within the scope of the position and experience of the employee as may be required or requested by the Program Manager.
