Out Patient Nurse Manager

 

Position Summary:  

The Nurse Manager monitors and directs the day to day clinical operations and client flow in AllHealth Network Medication Clinics; implements policies & procedures to attain the goals and objectives of the clinics; provides pertinent information and recommendations to the Director of Nursing; provides training and direct supervision to the nursing and other staff supporting the Medical Providers.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Licensed Registered Nurse. Master's Degree Required.
  2. Experience: At least 5 years' experience in the psychiatric mental health field and experience in community mental health setting and/or other outpatient medical clinic experience. Requires demonstrated clinical leadership. Supervisory experience, knowledge of business operations and financial management.
  3. Skills:
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with specific ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Ability to develop professional supervisory relationships with all staff and therapeutic relationships with consumers and families.
  5. Proven ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with other professionals in all levels of authority.
  6. Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities within previously held positions.
  7. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  8. Demonstrated advanced level of clinical skills in working with individuals of all ages with behavioral health issues.
  9. Other: Ability to negotiate stairs, climb a step ladder, and lift equipment and supplies up to 25 lbs. Must possess own transportation, have a good driving record, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:
  2. Implements and monitors AllHealth Network policy and procedures to ensure smooth efficient operations of AllHealth Network Medication Clinics.

 

  1. Customer Service:
  2. Develops and maintains collegial relationships with all area agencies as well as internal and external providers involved with AllHealth Network clients to ensure thorough coordination of care.
  3. Maintains and oversees system of handling crisis calls and walk-in emergencies at medication services during operating hours. Performs face to face crisis contacts as needed, coordinates with Emergency Services in the disposition of such cases and supervises staff in their crisis work.
  4. Collaborates with other supervisors and managers as needed to ensure coordinated, comprehensive services are provided to clients.
  5. Fiscal:
  6. Works in conjunction with Operations Manager to ensure the most effective use of Medical Providers' time by overseeing and managing schedules.
  7. Tracks and manages staffs' use of technology to ensure most effective, efficient processes.
  8. Coordinates IT issues with Network Director.
  9. Compliance: Tracks and ensures accurate, comprehensive, timely completion of all clinical and administrative documentation by supervised staff including but not limited to daily documentation, case reviews, peer reviews, CCARs, critical incident reports, SALs, timesheets, etc.
  10. Supervises staff in establishment of close communication/coordination with other Network clinicians for the purpose of support, crisis intervention, and effective and efficient management of services provided for the consumers being served across Network programs.
  11. Human Resources Development: Ensures excellent service provision through over site of hiring, training, on-going supervision and development of medication services staff.
  12. Develops performance based job descriptions for all direct reports. Ensures an environment that fosters growth and development and recognizes individual achievement.
  13. Develops the competency of Medication Services staff. Provides supervision to staff regarding job performance and administrative issues.
  14. Documents supervision within expected time frames
  15. Works to resolve problems with supervisee's performance and/or productivity.
  16. Ensures qualified staff are hired and positions are filled in a timely manner.
  17. Completes all required documentation accurately, legibly, and within established timelines.
  18. Follows all AllHealth Network clinical policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including those related to confidentiality.
  19. Performs other duties within the scope of the position and experience, education, and ability of the employee as may be requested or required.
