AllHealth Network is growing! We are seeking a motivated individual to be a part of our Social Rehabilitation Team in a FULL TIME position of Vocational Specialist to serve our office in Littleton, CO. If you are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference, please apply.

Founded in 1955, AllHealth Network provides professional, culturally inclusive mental health and substance abuse services, including outpatient services such as individual, family, marital and group counseling and psychiatry plus a full range of specialized programs including an acute treatment unit, program for those with severe and persistent mental illness, and more.

 

Vocational Specialist

Vocational Specialist will champion employment as a key factor in mental health recovery. They will assist and guide program members so that they can identify and work toward their vocational goals. This includes teaching skills, job coaching, job development. Coordination with clinical treatment staff and other internal employment staff, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, and other partner agencies.

 

Qualifications:
A. Education: Minimum of a BA in mental health, vocational rehabilitation, or related field.
B. Experience: Minimum one year of experience with job development and/or vocational rehabilitation with adults and/or older adults within a human services setting.
C. Skills: Ability to establish trust and a rapport with chronically mentally ill consumers, their families, or significant others. Ability to design and conduct task focused groups. Knowledge of group process. Ability to motivate individuals and support them in work roles. Excellent organization skills and prioritization skills. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with prospective employers to secure and promote successful job placement.
D. Other: Ability to negotiate stairs, climb a step ladder, and lift equipment and supplies up to 25 lbs. Must possess own transportation, have a good driving record, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities:
A. Responsible to assist individuals challenged by mental illness and/or substance abuse with learning job skills that will prepare them to enter the work force. Maintains fidelity to Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.
B. Provide on the job training and support to assist clients with maintaining their employment. Delivers services to the individual, guided by the individual and involving families, friends, peer groups, and community supports.
C. Monitor symptoms, current mental status, and clinical service needs for program members and assists with connecting to those services as needed. Coordinate information with all relevant providers both internally and externally. Links individuals to case managers and benefit acquisition specialists to promote job development and successful placement.
D. Function as a colleague and role model working in partnership with program members and other staff in all facets of the program. Educates other colleagues about employment, education, and meaningful roles for job seekers, as central to the recovery process. Assists in maintaining employment resource materials, bulletin boards, and promoting celebration of individual successes. Assists in building a "work" culture at AllHealth Network.
E. Documents all service contacts in the community and with individuals. Develops mutually agreed upon implementation action plans with recovery focus.
F. Network with the business community to assist with maintaining and developing relationships to promote job development and placement for individuals. Develops community employment positions that are suitable to the needs and desires of specific individuals.
G. Expected to demonstrate customer service focus, good communication and professionalism with client, co-workers and outside agency personnel in order to provide high quality services and to enhance community relationships.
H. Complete all monthly reports and tracking of individuals enrolled in the program to meet fidelity measures. Fulfill obligation with Department of Vocational Rehabilitation with number of clients served in vocational services and placed in jobs. Work collaboratively with vocational counselors on this endeavor.
I. Complete and follow through with financial and clinical information necessary to ensure reimbursement for services provided to consumers.
J. Participate in a) AllHealth Network meetings and trainings as directed, b) team meetings c) individual and group supervision d) DVR consortium meetings e)Treatment team meetings and other vocational meetings as indicated.
K. Perform other duties within the scope of the position and within the experience of the employee as may be requested or required.
